Performance Assurance Lead (12 Month Fixed Term)
Crown Law provides legal advice and representation to the Government across a range of areas that affect all New Zealanders including matters relating to crime, tax and revenue collection, the Treaty of Waitangi, human rights, exercise of public powers and constitutional matters.
This is an outstanding opportunity to serve the Crown in a busy, high performing Government department that has recently refreshed its strategic direction and the operating model of its Information Technology function. You will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the way we deliver IT services to the business.
We are looking to appoint a fixed term Performance and Assurance Lead, reporting to the Manager Technology Services. The Performance Assurance Lead delivers technical governance expertise to ensure compliance and standardisation; enabling an assured and secure technology environment.
As a specialist IT practitioner you will provide expert recommendations for the development and implementation of standards and policies that guide the way Crown Law adopts, securely implements and uses Information Technology solutions. You will build and maintain business relationships to understand and reflect business direction and priorities, business requirements, and critical business services in the development of governance tools and processes. This includes supporting growing good practice around planning and prioritisation, including the realisation of benefits and management of costs.
Outside of Crown Law, you will build and maintain strategic relationships across the sector and with the GCDO office ensuring Crown Law aligns to and supports, Government direction. You will support relationship management frameworks and practices being defined, with a particular focus on leveraging the wisdom of government through DIA, GCDO and sector channels being more formally established.
You will have a strong background in the development IT Standards and Policies that keep organisations safe, guide design decisions and promote good management practices. You will have a proven track record of implementing operational governance with a focus on compliance, security and alignment.
This position is based in Wellington.
