Manager Technology Services - Information Technology

Crown Law provides legal advice and representation to the Government across a range of areas that affect all New Zealanders including matters relating to crime, tax and revenue collection, the Treaty of Waitangi, human rights, exercise of public powers and constitutional matters.

This is an outstanding opportunity to serve the Crown in a busy, high performing Government department that has recently refreshed its strategic direction and the operating model of its Information Technology function.

We are looking to appoint a Manager Technology Services, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. This newly created role leads, manages and enables the IT team, vendors and environments to deliver high performing technology services.

You will be expected to drive the IT Operating Model and work across the business and with vendor partners to implement and support the new strategic direction. At the same time you will also lead a small functional team and be able to roll your sleeves up to get things done. You will have responsibility for delivery and management of the end-to-end IT Lifecycle from Plan to Design, Deliver, Operate and Assure. You will lead a hybrid delivery model with select vendors and Crown Law resources to ensure that there is a very clear link between the way people need to work and the technology that supports them. You will also have an opportunity to influence at an executive level to ensure that there is a very clear link between the technology approach and the organisational vision and strategy.

You will need to be an experienced IT leader and practitioner who can demonstrate success in building high performing teams of internal and external capability to deliver change and fit-for-purpose technology services that enable the business. You will be a strong communicator and enjoy leading change and developing strategies that deliver results. You will have strong commercial acumen and be proficient at managing in an outsourced environment. You will also have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with the wider sector and central government agencies.

This newly created position is based in Wellington.

The successful candidate must be a New Zealand citizen, complete a Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check and be required to obtain and maintain a high level of National Security Clearance, so utmost integrity and trustworthiness is required.
