We are currently looking to appoint Crown Counsel within our Treaty Team. This is a unique position to work at the forefront of this important and developing area of public law. Counsel in the Treaty teams regularly advise Executive Government and Ministries as well as represent the Crown in all levels of the Courts and the Waitangi Tribunal on matters relating to the evolving status of the Treaty within domestic law.
The nature of this role requires sound legal experience in public law and/or litigation, and an interest in matters relating to the Treaty of Waitangi. Experience appearing before the Courts and/or the Waitangi Tribunal would be beneficial.
This position is based in Wellington.
To be considered for a position at Crown Law you must have a legal right to live and work in New Zealand and are required to complete a Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check.
